Two years after opening the flagship Basmati restaurant in Petworth, West Sussex, the new branch was opened in Locks Heath village shopping centre.
Built in the late 1980s, the shopping centre forms the heart of this suburb and attracts visitors from Fareham, Southampton, and surrounding areas. A restaurant had already been trading on the site for 15 years. Formerly known as the India Garden. We took the opportunity to transform the restaurant into a chic, open plan modern dining venue. Executive chef Nasar Miah was bought in to the group as a whole, to direct the new menu in a back to basics style of cooking and introduce some home cooked dishes.
The business was opened at the peak of the economic downturn, but with enormous efforts from all the staff, we have managed to turn the business around and grow year on year. The refurbished dining area can seat 70 diners comfortably and is the perfect venue for your special occasion.
Basmati Locks Heath also hosts the Basmati curry club. An occasion where you and your friends, can sample a completely bespoke menu. These events will allow the discerning diner to sample authentic home cooking at its best, with new foods and flavours not found on the normal à la carte menu. Please contact us to arrange your special club night. A minimum of 12 diners will be required.
